Fernando Chavez
Experience: Locke-Ober’s Boston, MA Wine Manager/ Sommelier September 2002- Present In this historical and prestigious restaurant, my direct responsibilities included the creation of a fine wine list, managing the wine cellar, inventorying and cataloging of wines. Insuring guests enjoyment and satisfaction in pairing of wines with foods. Brookline Liquor Mart Boston, MA Wine Consultant/Merchant August 1998-November 2002 As a wine consultant my direct responsibilities involve developing and ensuring a good client rapport; educating the client’s understanding of wine and of their own palates, the discussion of grape varieties and of wine styles. Duties also include the responsibility of weekly inventory, in house tastings, and the compiling of wine tasting notes for publication in the BLM weekly newsletter. The exposure to rare and fine wines has offered me the opportunity to gain valuable insight of the aging process that wine goes through and can withstand. I have gained comprehension of the intimate relationship between geography and wine, and knowledge of the world’s appellations, and their fundamental differences in terroir. |
